614,738 people were currently on GAMSTOP, according to GAMSTOP's release of 16 July 2026 on the first half of 2026. Registrations were up 16% year on year, and May 2026 set a monthly record of 12,236 sign-ups. If you are on GAMSTOP, you are far from alone.

Every GAMSTOP figure here comes from GAMSTOP's own releases: the one of 16 July 2026 and the one on the second half of 2025. We add no estimates or forecasts of our own. Checked on 15 October 2026.

The first half of 2026 at a glance

  • 614,738 people currently on GAMSTOP.
  • Registrations up 16% year on year.
  • May 2026: a monthly record of 12,236 sign-ups.
  • Men: more than seven in ten new registrations.
  • More than one in two of the current users chose five years.
  • Among all ages, only one in four chose six months.

Younger people are signing up faster

  • Under-25s: up 26% year on year.
  • Under-25s: nearly one in three of all self-exclusions.
  • 38% of younger users choose six months, the shortest period.

So younger users pick the shortest period more often than people of all ages do, where only one in four chose six months.

The second half of 2025

  • 58,675 registrations in the last six months of 2025.
  • More than 562,000 people actively excluded at the end of 2025.
  • 16–24 year olds: up 40% year on year, and 29% of new registrations.
  • Five years was chosen by 47%.
  • In December 2025, more than half of those choosing five years took auto-renewal.

Compared with Sweden and Denmark

Sweden's register, Spelpaus, stood at about 138,000 at the end of June 2026. Denmark's register, ROFUS, stood at 68,026 at the end of 2025.

These counts are not like for like. GAMSTOP counts people currently excluded, and it covers online gambling only. The Swedish and Danish registers work under their own rules and periods, and the figures are from different dates. Read them side by side, not as a ranking.

What GAMSTOP does not publish

Some numbers people look for are not in GAMSTOP's releases:

  • Monthly figures, apart from the May 2026 record.
  • How many minimum periods end each month.
  • How many people remove their exclusion.
  • How many people register again.

So the releases cannot tell you how many people lift their block or how many come back. We do not fill that gap with guesses.

What the numbers mean for you

Hundreds of thousands of people are on GAMSTOP, and more than half of them chose five years. Each of them has the same choice ahead: keep the block or lift it. That day goes better with your own rules ready. You don't have to quit. You have to be in control.

  1. The amount before the app: decide how much you can spend in a week before you open any account again. A number, not a feeling.
  2. The time before the app: decide which days and for how long, before you log in.
  3. One person who knows: choose someone who gets to hear the real number.
